Green are uncommon and have some magic on it
Blue are very rare and are even more powerful
Purple is epic EPIC.

Anyways, I guess you can buy windows from Purdue... it doesn't make too much sense to resist windows if it makes your life much more complicated.
Since it doesn't do it more complicated I can resist very easily :-) Maybe you should increase your independence by not buying so many Windows Games!! :-P
BTW, they also sell windows vista for 15? If this is the case then why not buy it once and for all? In that case at least you would be paying for something new, as opposed to keep paying for things you have already payed for!! (which is what M$ is so good at! making people pay several times for the same licence of windows they have already bought when people buy a new pc or laptop!!)

I don't know if they are selling Vista for 15... I think not, very likely it will be cheaper but not to 15. 15 is For XP.
And if they sell Vista... would it really be worth it? Cause Thats more RAM going to the OS not to the GAMES... and priority should eb GAMES.
I'm tempted on getting XP SP2 but NOT vista... for now.

another thing is that "upgrading" from windows "professional" to windows "home edition" is not possible. What version are you getting from the university?
About vista vs. xp and games... if you buy vista now it might help you play games in the future that are "vista games" or games designed for vista... then again, you might be considering getting away from games for windows :-P
I think the University sells both... and for Vista I did saw something that future directX software will be develop for Vista, still... I'm worried about RAM hogging by Vista.
